Description:This is a detail of the frame for an oil painting on panel depicting a prize fighter. It depicts Tom Sayers (1826-1865), a prize fighter who was regarded as the undisputed and unconquered champion of England. His most famous fight was in Farnborough in 1860 which took over 47 rounds. It was painted by an artist of the English School, about 1840. Framed size Height 730mm, Width 570mm
