Description:This glass pen topped with a white rabbit was made by Chance Brothers of Smethwick.
In 1832 Chance Brothers was the first company in Britain to adopt the cylinder method of producing sheet glass. The company became the main producer of sheet glass in the country and it supplied the glass for the Crystal Palace and the four faces of Big Ben.
Chance Brothers also made lighthouse lenses, lights and machinery and there is a blue lighthouse lens in the collections of Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum.
