Diameter 36mm
Medal struck to celebrate Allied victory in World War I. The obverse features the inscription 'THE GREAT/ WAR FOR/ CIVILISATION/ 1914 - 1919' within a wreath. The obverse features the Goddess of Victory winged and wearing a breastplate. She stands with her left harm outstretced and holding a palm branch, symbolising victory, in her right hand. There is a loop for suspension at the top with a ring and multi coloured ribbon attached.
This medal was awarded posthumously to Private Henry Harold Burford. He died at Passchendaele in 1917 while delivering rations to the front line.
