Kingdom of the Netherlands bronze cent, 1882
Diameter 18mm
The obverse features the coat of arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a lion rampant wearing a crown and holding a sword in its right fore paw and seven arrows bound in its left fore paw, before fifteen shields, within a central beaded ring. The inscription around the outside reads 'KONINGRIJK DER NEDERLANDEN', 'Kingdom of the Netherlands', with the date below. The date is flanked by the Privy Marks of the broadaxe for the Mintmaster of the Utrecht mint and the caduceus, the mintmark of the Utrecht Mint. The reverse features the denomination within a wreath, possibly of branches from the lime tree, that is tied at the base with a bow.
