Medal with tartan rosette attached, early to mid 19th Century
Diameter 63mm
The obverse features the bust of Walter Scott facing right with the name 'SCOTT' to the left and the name 'Halliday F' underneath. The reverse features the Scott Monument at Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, which was designed by George Meikle Kemp. The inscription reads 'FOUNDED AUG. 15. 1840' although the monument was not actually finished until 1844. Walter Scott was a Scottish historical novelist and poet.
