Diameter 36mm
Medal struck to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria's reign. The obverse features a circular photograph of the Queen from which extend four branches. The top branch bears a crown and the date of the Coronation, the right hand branch bears the thistle of Scotland and the date of her marriage to Prince Albert, the left hand branch bears the shamrock of Ireland and the date of her birth, and the bottom branch bears the rose of England and the date of the Golden Jubilee. The reverse features the inscription 'GOD SAVE THE QUEEN' in the centre within a wreath of oak branches. Each of the medal's four branches bear lyrics from the national anthem. The medal hangs on a blue ribbon with a clasp at the top.
