Date:1870 - 1880 (c.)
Description:This fashion doll was probably made in France, perhaps by the firm of Pierre Jumeau. Fashion dolls were popular between 1860 - 1890, and were made to look like elegant young women. This doll has a bisque head - a matt (unshiny) porcelain, with fixed blue glass eyes. The clothes are very detailed, and show the latest fashion for the 1870's. They include a black silk dress trimmed with lace and purple silk ribbon, and a straw hat.
