Purpose of Critick: to determine the area of Human Reason.
Two cognitive faculties: Sensibility & Understanding.
How is knowledge possible through these? _ The investigation of the conditions of knowledge is "Trancendental Philosophy, divided into Trancendental Aesthetic & Trancendental Logic.

Fundamental Problem: & what is knowledge? Is knowledge a fact? How is the fact possible?
Knowlegde or Cognition is judgement - which is either analytical or synthetical - the former when the predictive is contained in the representation of the subject as always [?], the latter when it is not thus contained: otherwise called explicative & ampliative. (Sir W.Hamilton). Kant declares that all knowledge consists in synthetical judgement. But every syn. judg[mdn]t is not cognition in the strictest case. For this it must be necessary & universal as of the angles of a triangle being = to 2 [3.a?]. These characters can never be given in experiencs, or a portion: but before all experience a priori. Hence all true cognition consists in synthetcal judgement a priori.

In Physics causation is the fundamental syn. judg[men]t a priori. In metaphysics, the judgement concerning God, the son, the world
