Description:This bell was used to summon servants and belonged to local author George Eliot. It came from the bedroom [?] of Bird Grove House in Coventry where she lived with her father. The bell was found during the repair work that resulted from a World War Two air raid in November 1940.


George Eliot (born Mary Ann Evans) was a local authoress based in the Coventry and Nuneaton district, from 1819-1880.
