Description:The poet's ornate, lace-edged collar and the rotundity of his face differ from the archetypal images of the Droeshout engraving, the Holy Trinity Church memorial bust and the Chandos portrait. The faintly discernible earring in Shakespeare's ear is a point of similarity with the latter. Height 24.5 cm; width 20 cm (not framed). Oil on panel.
