Description:This is a carved wooden candleholder, modelled with two figures in servants' clothes, supporting the candle with a yoke on their shoulders. They sit on a carriage with four rough-hewn wheels. Working people generally used tallow candles, and many candlesticks had spiral devices that allowed precious candles to be wound higher as they burned down. This is British, possibly from the mid 19th century. Height 350mm, Length 182mm, Width 93mm
