Description:A photographic portrait of Rowland Edward Leyland Naylor (1851-1949) by Bullock Brothers of Leamington Spa.
From about 1905 until his death Mr Naylor lived in Harrington House at 12 Newbold Terrace in Leamington Spa. Amongst other things the house had a grand marble staircase and its own chapel. Naylor bequeathed the house to the town and it was put to several uses. During World War Two it was used by the WRENS, then the Czechoslovak Free Army and finally the Warwickshire Civil Defence department. Before it was demolished by the Town Council in 1967, the house was considered for the Art Gallery. The Spa Centre, opened in 1971, was built on the site where Harrington House once stood.
