English brass medal, c.1838
Diameter 23mm
Medal struck to commemorate the coronation of Queen Victoria. The obverse features the diademed bust of Victoria facing left The inscription reads 'HER MOST GRACIOUS MAJESTY VICTORIA' with a six-pointed star at the base. The reverse features a crown above a half wreath made up of roses, shamrocks and thistles. These represent England, Ireland and Scotland. The inscription reads 'CROWNED/ AT WESTMINSTER JUNE 28 1838'. There is a hole pierced in the top for suspension which is not part of the original design.
