Description:This is an oil painting on canvas depicting a prize ram and is by an artist of the English Provincial School, dating from about 1870. By the mid 1700s there was an increasing interest in the science of animal husbandry and owners and breeders frequently commissioned portaits of prize animals like this. Framed size Height 536mm, Width 640mm, Depth 50mm.
