Description:First World War service medal with ribbon issued to Private F.C. Smith. The Obverse features the bust of King George V and reads, "GEORGIUS V BRITT.OMN : REX ET IND : IMP :" The reverse features a man on horseback carrying a sword in his right hand and trampling the eagle shield of the Central Powers and a skull and crossbones, symbolising death. The dates of the war are inscribed to the left and right of the central image. Around the circumference is stamped, "DM2-163544 PTE. F. C. SMITH. A.S.C." The ribbon is multi-coloured.
