Description:
A black and white photograph by Maurice Mead of a Christmas party in the Annexe at the Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa.
The party was put on by the Council for patients at the Royal Pump Rooms and held in the south annexe. Mr Nicholls, the donor, was invited to the party because his mother worked at the Royal Pump Rooms as a nurse. In the photograph the donor's mother, Amy Nicholls, is standing to the right and clapping. Others invited to the party were staff members, management and some councillors. The lady standing next to 'Father Christmas' is Mrs Baker, who was also a nurse. Mr Nicholls' mother and father both worked at the Royal Pump Rooms. His father was a boilerman, from after the Second World War until the 1960s.
