The Catholic Chapel
Ink on paper
115mm x 145mm
A view of George Street with the Catholic Chapel to the left and a three-storey town house to the right. There is a woman and child standing outside the town house, a man is riding his horse on the road and there are two boys sitting under a tree to the left. The Catholic Chapel was built in 1826 and was in use until St Peter's was opened on Dormer Place in 1864. The George Street Chapel was then used by the Apostolic Catholics (1864-1890), as the Leamington Youth Mission (1890-1971) and by the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (1971-1993). In 1993 it was sold again and is now the Leamington Spa Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
