Description:

United States of America silver three cents, c.1851-1873

Diameter 13.5mm

The coin is very worn. Visible on the obverse is a six-pointed star with vertical lines in the centre. There is an illegible inscription around the outside and the date is below. The reverse features a large 'C' enclosing the number three in roman numerals, this is the denomination. Stars are just visible around the outside. Three holes have been punched into the main body of the coin, this is not part of the original design.
