The obverse features the monogram of William I dividing the date. The reverse, very worn on this example, features a shield bearing the coat of arms of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a lion rampant wearing a crown and holding a sword in its right fore paw and seven arrows bound in its left, before fifteen shields. The coat of arms divides the denomination, abbreviated to '1 C'. Below, to the right, is the caduceus, the mintmark for Utrect, and to the left is a torch for the Mintmaster of Utrecht.
