Luxembourg bronze 5 centimes, 1854

Diameter 25mm

The obverse features a shield bearing the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg - a two tailed lion rampant on a striped background, below a crown within a central ring. The inscription around the outside reads 'GRAND-DUCHE DE LUXEMBOURG' with a five pointed star below. The star is flanked by the Privy Marks for the Utrecht mint, a sword on the left and a caduceus to the right. The caduceus is illegible on this example. The reverse features the denomination and date within a wreath of olive and oak branches that are tied at the base with a bow.
