Date:1900 - 2000 (c.)

Description:These clips and hooks were used to attach electrodes during low frequency electrotherapy treatments at the Royal Pump Rooms, Leamington Spa. The electrodes were soaked in saline solution and applied over the muscles that required stimulation. Once the electrodes were firmly in position a low frequency current was passed through them. A wet pad was often put between the electrode and the skin to allow the current to pass evenly through the skin.
