Description:This doll was made by the French maker Jules Steiner. His company made high quality dolls, as well as mechanical figures.It has a bisque head, with composition body and limbs. 'Composition' is a papier-mache or wood pulp mixture. The arms and legs are jointed so they can be moved easily. The clothes, all original, include white cotton underwear and a red silk dress. Circa 1880 - 1890
