Description:Automaton model of a potter's workshop. Two men are in the workshop, and both move when operate by turnkey from the reverse. The flywheel turned by the man on the right drives the potter's wheel. The man's left arm rises intermittently to mop his brow with a rag. The potter is seated at the wheel drawing a pot, and as the wheels turn, his arms move up and down to shape the revolving pot. There are shelves of white-painted zinc crockery to the back and sides. To the side of the potter is a large lump of clay, ready for throwing. In an angled case with a glass front. Height 320mm, Length 320mm, Width 247mm Early 20th century. Northern Europe.
