Date:1855 - 1864 (c.)
Description:A 'Dragoon Model', Beaumont-Adams percussion revolver.
It has a '54 bore' (approx .49 inch calibre), five-shot cylinder, chequered, one-piece wooden grip, and a blued finish. The date of manufacture is between 1855 and 1864, and it would have been intended for purchase by Army officers and used in the Crimean War and the Indian Mutiny. This model was by far the most dominant and popular pistol of it's era, among British Army officers. It was also made under licence in many countries and sold extensively abroad. The manufacturer's initials, L.A.C. are stamped on the left barrel flat next to the marks of the London Proof House.
