Description:This painting is a naïve copy of the Chandos Portrait attributed to John Taylor (c. 1610). Shakespeare's collar, with strings hanging loosely down, is a clear element of similarity between the portraits, as is the ring in his left ear. Height 18.4 cm; width 17.2 cm (frame).
