Description:This doll's head and limbs have been made by the poured wax method. A hot wax mixture was poured into a plaster mould and left to set. When solid, the head was removed from the mould and finished off with eyes and hair. This doll has fixed blue glass eyes, real hair inserted into holes in the head, and a fabric body. It may have been made by the Montanari workshop. They were one of a number of fine wax modellers who worked in London in the 19th century.
