Description:Rectangular silver matchbox made in Birmingham, 1919. The lid is hinged at one side, along the base there is a hollow ridge for striking matches and there is a loop at one side for suspension. There are hallmarks on the lid and on the base - W.E.E is the makers mark, the anchor is the city of Birmingham mark, the lion is the mark for sterling silver and the date letter 'u' is for the year 1919.
