Description:Blue transfer printed mug. The image of Shakespeare used here is based on the Westminster Abbey statue.

The Shakespearian Club, (now known as the Shakespeare Club) was founded on 23rd April 1824 and is the oldest Shakespeare society in existence. It initiated the Shakespeare's Birthday celebrations and lobbied for the purchase of his birthplace for the nation in 1847.
