Description:This is a polychrome pine floating goose decoy, detailed with stylised plumage. Decoys were carved and painted by hunters, who set out to capture the essence of a bird rather than creating precise ornithological copies. Most decoys were made of lightest wood possible, so they could be carried in a sack. This one is British and is from 1900 to 1950. Height 275 mm, Length 610 mm, Width 228 mm
