Description:This is an oil painting on canvas depicting two cats and was painted by the English Provincial School about 1870. At this time, paintings of horses and hounds were more usually by professional artists, and paintings of domestic pets like these were left to amateurs. The artist has deliberately exaggerated the cats' features, such as ears and eyes, which was designed to add to their charm and appeal. Framed size-Height 420mm, Width 495mm, Depth 48mm.
