The Mk 1 Cortina was an estate version and belonged to a Mr Shinner. In the distance at the bottom of the green, partly obscured by the telegraph pole, is a Standard Vanguard that belonged to Bert Bridgewater of The Bank House, High Street. On the footpath opposite is a black labrador called Tinker. He belonged to Mrs Payne, wife of the late Alfred Payne, who lived at The Rosary, High Street.]
