Description:This photograph requires further research to confirm the identity. Formerly it was captioned on here as Miss Ethel Dewar. It is now thought that this is a typographic error and that it should be Miss Evelyn Hester Dewar. It is she who was the daughter of Mr. William Dewar, an assistant master at Rugby School from 1888-1911, and chairman of Rugby District Council from 1909-1912. He married Anne Evelyn Sadler (Barnsley, Yorkshire). They had three children Agatha May (16); Evelyn Hester (15) and Michael B.W. (14) who all appear in the 1901 census living at Horton House, Hillmorton Road, Rugby. A photograph of the Dewar family in 1894 at "Mayfield", Horton Crescent, Rugby is also on this site. Evelyn Hester Dewar married the Rev. Claude Martin Blagden, Rector of Rugby 1912-1927, Canon of Coventry 1918-1920, Archdeacon of Warwick 1920-1923 and Bishop of Peterborough 1927-1949.
