Description:A Bomford and Evershed agricultural steam engine and workers, Salford Priors. 1900s

[Fowler 8hp ploughing engine working an early prototype four-furrow reversible plough. The four-wheel carriage behind the engine has a winch drum driven by steam supplied by the ploughing engine. With both a winch drum mounted below the engine and the winch drum at the rear, work could be done using two wire cables. This could have been steam cultivation by a single engine on the 'roundabout' system, or for dredging.]
