Description:Crowds gathered round the Children's' Speak Pipe at St Michael's church, Stockton. This pipe extended through the rectory garden wall to a summer house where the Rector, Revd Thomas Colley, would sit. Children were encouraged to speak religious sayings up it in exchange for a penny in an orange or an apple which was rolled down to them. 1900s
