Description:Postcard sent from Fred. It has a silk mesh insert which is decorated with embroidered flowers in shades of pink, purple and yellow. "MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU" is embroidered in yellow. The silk mesh insert forms a pocket which has a card inside printed with a seated lady, the flags of Great Britain, Belgium and France, and "A Kiss from France". This is known as an insert card.
This card was sent to Ethel May Harrison (nee Tims). She had two brothers, Jack and Fred, who were both killed in action in World War One. They are named on the Leamington Spa War Memorial. They wrote to Ethel regularly during the war, as well as sending her souvenirs from France, such as a handkerchief and cloth case.
