Description:Postcard from Fred. It has a silk mesh insert which is decorated with an embroidered purple flower with green foliage. "Forget me not" is embroidered in purple. The silk mesh insert forms a pocket which has a printed card within it known as an insert card. This smaller card is printed in colour with a picture of a young woman and "Not Absent in Thoughts".
This card was sent to Ethel May Harrison (nee Tims). She had two brothers, Jack and Fred, who were both killed in action in World War One. They are named on the Leamington Spa War Memorial. They wrote to Ethel regularly during the war, as well as sending her souvenirs from France, such as a handkerchief and cloth case.
