Date:1798

Description:A letter from Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, to W Phipps, Royal oculist. Phipps changed his name to Waller in 1814 (Waller was the name of his maternal grandmother) and became a baronet in 1815, styling himself Sir Jonathan Wathen Waller.

Georgiana's letter concerns money. She wants to know how much she owes Phipps, an amount she thinks must run into hundreds of pounds, and to make arrangements for repayment. She also mentions being in town on Wednesday and her hopes of seeing him.
