Description:A headress made by the Fang, from Gabon.

It consists of a cap covered in white beads with a red and blue beaded motif. Palm leaf ribs form the inside of the headress which has a leather lining. Metal fixings form an artificial fringe and ornament down the back of the neck. The headress would be worn by a man or woman at all times. The headress incorporates hair and dates to c.1895-1910.
