Description:A letter sent in 1962 by Lady Reading, (Chairman of the Women's Voluntary Service for Civil Defence), to Mrs Ruth Gibbs of Leamington Spa. The letter accompagnied the Women's Voluntary Service Long Service medal. In it, Lady Reading apologises to Mrs Gibbs for the lack of a special presentation and explains what the medal is being given for and what the inscriptions and decoration upon the medal mean, 1962.
