Description:This is a course folder used by Mrs Gibbs when she was a student on a course run by the Civil Defence Corps through their Warwickshire Division.
The course was a Rest Centre Instructors 'Pilot' Course held at the County Training School, Harrington House, Leamington Spa. It was run from the 2nd to the 3rd of October, 1951. The folder contains a syndicate rosta, a diagram of the seating arrangements and joining instructions. There is also a Welfare Section Training Syllabus for Rest Centres, a County of Warwick Civil Corps bookmark, the story of the city of Hamburg and a report on the care of the homeless. Furthermore there is a welfare section which reports on Rest Centre feeding, the problem of housing refugees and transit, sanitation and field sanitation in relation to the refugee problem. There is also a report on the suggested standards for refugee camps for 3,000 (people). At the end of the folder there is a list of equipment needed per 50 people in Centres and a diagram of the layout of a Rest Centre. The folder dates from the 2nd October 1951.
