Description:This is a machine embroidered label advertising W. Smith Boot Makers. The embroidery reads: 'Bespoke Boot Maker / W. Smith / 58 Bath St. / Leamington'. In 1875 William Smith bought the shoe shop at 58 Bath Street, Leamington Spa, where he was apprenticed. He ran the shop until his death in 1929, when he was succeeded by his son Cecil. During the 17 years until its closure in 1956, the shop was run by Muriel Smith, the wife of Cecil
