Description:
Black and white postcard of Leamington Spa.
Image taken from the east side of Victoria Terrace looking north west over Victoria Bridge towards the Royal Pump Rooms. A man is standing on the bridge with his back to the camera.
This postcard is part of the Cambria Series and was produced by William Alfred Evan Call (d.1964) of the County Studio, Monmouth. William Call was nicknamed 'Count Call' due to his part-French origins and his habit of wearing a cape. He had a business as a photographic publisher at 3 Priory Street, Monmouth. Call was an accomplished musician and was a professional church organist as well as a photographer and pupeteer. He regularly performed at Blackpool during the holiday season. He was a skilful architectural photographer, who worked to commission as well as producing hundreds of postcards and larger prints. Monmouth Museum has a large collections of his photographs.
