Description:
D G Squirhill
North And West Views Of The Regent Hotel
19th Century
Ink on paper
380mm x 555mm.
This print depicts a view of the Regent Hotel after The Parade (west) entrance was built in 1849. There are carriages and pedestrians on the Parade. D G Squirhill was a Leamington based architect, he designed the lodges at the entrance to the Jephson Gardens and the chapel on Holly Walk. Squirhill often used red brick with white brick relief. It is possible that Squirhill Place, off Russell Terrace, was designed by and named after him.
