A couple are walking past Copps' Hotel to the left and a man on horseback with a dog in front of him is on the road. In the distance there is a horse drawn carriage. Wise's Baths is the building beyond the market to the right of the image. Both Copps' Hotel and Wise's Baths were demolished in 1847 to make way for the railway bridge.
