The inscription below the drawing reads: 'Old Milverton Church / Original drawing by John Burgess (About 1850) / Presented by Mr Whitehead 1916'. Frederick and Elizabeth Whitehead studied art under the direction of Burgess, at his school in Leamington Spa.
