Description:

English copper half farthing, 1844

Diameter 18mm

The obverse features the bust of Queen Victoria facing left. The inscription reads 'VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F:D', Latin meaning 'Victoria By the Grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith'. The reverse features the denomination with a crown above and the date below. At the base are the rose of England, the shamrock of Ireland and the thistle of Scotland intertwined.
