Birmingham silver medal, 1856

Medal struck by Thomas Fattorini Limited, Birmingham. The obverse has a diamond shaped base with a thin banner surrounding the central shield in an almost square shape. In the centre is a coat of arms in blue, white, yellow and silver enamel, depicting a dog rampant behind a blue and silver chevron with silver stars surrounding. The reverse features the name of the maker 'Thomas Fattorini/ Limited/ Birmingham' at the top, with the hallmarks of the maker, 'T.F.', the anchor and the lion of Birmingham, and the date, 'H' (1856).
