French copper ten centimes, 1808


Diameter 17mm


The obverse features the monogram of Napolon I with a crown above. Around this is a raised rim bearing a wreath with a five pointed star above. The reverse features the value '10/CENT' (centimes) and three mintmarks, a 'W' for Lille, the caduceus for the Mint Director of Lille and the word 'Tiolier' in script for the Engraver General, Paris. The raised rim bears the inscription 'NAPOLEON EMPEREUR' and the date is below.
