Description:

English silver florin/2 shillings, 1902

Diameter 28mm

The obverse features the bust of Edward VII facing right. The initals of the designer, G. W. De Saulles, are underneath. Around the outside is the inscription 'EDWARDUS VII D:G: BRITT: OMN: REX: F:D: IND:IMP', Latin, abbreviated meaning 'King Edward VII By the Grace of God King of all the Britains Defender of the Faith Emperor of India'. The reverse features Britannia standing by the sea with her left hand resting on a shield. She is carrying Poseidon's trident. The date is below and the denominations are inscribed around the outside.
