Description:

Irish Hibernia Mining Company copper halfpenny token, 1793

Diameter 28mm

The obverse features the monogram for the Hibernia Mining Company, HMCo. 'CAMAC KEYAN AND CAMAC' is inscribed around the outside and at the base is written 'ONE HALFPENNY/ 1793'. The obverse features Hibernia crowned and seated facing right with her right hand resting on a six stringed harp. On her other side is a small brick tower with an opening at the base and another object on top. Around the outside is inscribed 'PAYABLE AT DUBLIN OR BALLYMURTAGH'.
